Nominations for the Martin Chusid Award for Verdi Studies, sponsored by the American Institute for Verdi Studies, are due by 28 February 2013.
Any book, book chapter, article, or scholarly music edition in the field of Verdi studies, written in English, French, German, or Italian by a scholar in the early stages of his or her career (normally no more than ten years beyond completion of the terminal degree) is eligible for nomination. The inaugural award considers works published in 2010, 2011, or 2012.
The winner will receive a cash prize of $1000 and an invitation to present a lecture on Verdi at New York University.

Please include the name of the author, the title of the work, and (for articles) the title and date of the journal, or (for books and music editions) the publisher and year of publication. The nominee may also be asked to supply a copy of the work, which will be returned if postage is included.
